I tend to call them panfish but the panfish family also includes bass so I just call them perch. I had heard you down south call various su...Barry,<br /><br />I had heard you down south call various sunfishes bream or perch, colloquial USA language is fascinating. I may have tossed in an egg and avoided the perch but possibly caught the carp, possibly. My youngest boy once found carp feeding on tiny duckweed, but by the gobs. He finally smeared a bread fly with algea to green it up and caught fish. They avoided anything any other color.
