Here is today's clue. "Although the most popular version of this fly is with the material in it's natural color there are some patterns that use dyed material. The majority material used in the construction of this fly is reported to have been used for the first time over 300 years ago. However, this Mystery Fly uses a "dyed" material, not the natural color."
